My favorite place for cold brew. That's usually the benchmark I use to compare different coffee shops. Pastries didn't wow me but I absolutely LOVE the cold brew.
It wakes you up and tastes great. Be careful not to drink it too fast! -

Ah Cafe Grumpy.
It seriously is lately.
Loved the first location but the grand central near my job
Wow everyone looks miserable. Dont get me wrong a job is a job
But when it hits to a 5.50 coffee and affect me then its like come on mate.
Get it together.
This place is a soft no. I want to love it but the service and the coffee alone lately hasnt been worth the price.
This location is only worth getting the patries. -

Roasted: I fell in love with cafe grumpy last time I was here but went to the one in Brooklyn. This one is in Manhattan and although the latte was good - my overall experience was nothing like the other one. Easy to find on Lexington Ave at the bottom of the Hilton. Small cafe with no tables just bench seating which works for the area. Team was friendly enough for an early Saturday morning but got just the basics. Wasn't offered a for here mug and they didn't have any sugar free options. Latte overall was tasty - a bit hot but the foam was nice and creamy. I wish this was as good as I remembered.
Unroasted: this is a very small coffee shop at grand central station. The staff was okay. They didn't greet you as you come in and didn't offer mugs to stay. The seating is bar stool so not the most comfortable. My latte is very good but not my favorite. Ps added sugar -

I noticed most of the staff behind the counter looked grumpy and miserable. So I have concerns my coffee would put me in a grumpier mood than I was already In. It may be called Cafe Grumpy but it's sure was a happy cup of coffee. It was very tasty. They do need to expand the menu. Very limited and they need to add hazelnut to the menu.

Cafe grumpy was a cute but small
Cafe that I walked past and stumbled into just by chance.
The ambiance is cute and warm - however, employees there fit in with the name of the place and came across...well, grumpy. I didn't get the best service here during my NY trip. The cafe itself is busy though and I waited around for a seat but none were looking to open up anytime soon so I ended up leaving.
The coffee was also mediocre, in my opinion. Strange tasting beans and I couldn't describe the things I was tasting at all. It made me wonder about the other coffee along the street because there were over 4 within a 2 min walk radius!
They also have some really cute merchandise to sell here and I liked it enough to take pictures of them.
Overall, an OK experience - swing by if you're into the branding and coffee!
